A safer stay at Hope Barton Barns
We cannot wait to welcome you to Hope Barton Barns. We have been extremely busy making sure we have everything in place to make your holiday as safe and as enjoyable as possible.
There will be some significant changes when visiting the site to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection with enhanced cleaning protocols in place. We are endeavouring to make your stay with us as safe as possible in these new circumstances.
Covid-19 information to be read before arrival
We politely remind all guests that if you or any of your party:
1) Are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 such as a high temperature, a new and persistent cough or a loss of taste or smell; or
2) Have tested positive for Covid-19 and are self-isolating; or
3) Are self-isolating under the Test and Trace scheme; or
4) Are presently living in or working in an area or premises subject to a local lockdown
then neither you nor any of your party must enter the site.
If a guest staying at Hope Barton is displaying signs of the Covid-19 virus , they should immediately inform Reception by dialling 0 on the cottage phone and immediately self-isolate where they are to minimise any risk of transmission, and request a test. If they are confirmed to have Covid-19, they and their party should return home or otherwise leave Hope Barton immediately if they reasonably can.
If a guest cannot reasonably return home or otherwise leave (for example because they are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), their circumstances should be discussed with the General Manager, an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority. Guests should follow government guidance on dealing with possible or confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.
Please note that HBOA Ltd reserves the right to charge and claim from a self-isolating guest and/or any member of their party the sum of the monies lost due to lost rental income if they occupy their cottage beyond their booked period because they cannot or will not leave , and/or if the cottage cannot be occupied on the intended date by the next party booked in to the cottage due to required cleaning and disinfecting procedures and as a result HBOA Limited has to cancel all or part of any subsequent booking (s) for the cottage in question.
Please note we have thermometers at reception should you feel concerned at any point during your stay.
Hand sanitising stations are provided in communal areas on site.
Our check-in process has been streamlined to allow for a fast and reduced-contact experience.
Please also note that we will only be accepting debit and credit cards for the foreseeable future, to avoid the handling of cash. Our check-in time remains the same, from 17.00.
Reception areas will be closed to the public however you will be met outside and shown to the property.
All surfaces, screens, door handles and equipment in the communal areas will be cleaned and sanitised daily in all the common areas and after use, by our cleaning team.
During these times we have been advised against handling your luggage or belongings, or showing you around your property. However, we are always happy to help and will ensure we do so with your safety in mind.
If you have any special requirements please let us know before you arrive so we can make the necessary arrangements.
We will provide hand sanitiser and disinfectant spray in all our properties for you to use.
Every property will be fully sanitised before each stay and we will ensure no contamination occurs prior to your arrival.
Fabric items such as mattresses, pillows, cushions, carpet, chairs and other furniture is sprayed with an approved sanitising solution, which is effective in killing Covid-19 but otherwise harmless to you and us.
All surfaces are thoroughly wiped down and cleaned prior to your arrival.
Linen, towels and kitchen clothes are professionally washed on a high heat, with added sanitisation.
Our housekeeping teams undergo strict sanitisation prior to starting work and will wear the appropriate PPE during cleaning.
We have set up hand sanitising stations around the site for you to use and we politely ask you to use these when arriving on site and throughout your stay.
Extensive cleaning of shared surfaces will be conducted throughout the day by our cleaning team.
We have equipped our toilets with sanitising handwash at the basins, as well as disposable hand towels but would respectfully request that their use is limited and that guests return to use the facilities in their own property whenever possible.
To avoid overcrowding in the changing rooms, we ask that guests who are staying with us use the cottage bathrooms to change, however the toilet facilities will remain available.
When walking around the onsite we also ask that you please use your discretion and consideration by keeping a social distance of a minimum of 2 metres between yourself and other guests. Also please try and reduce the touching of door handles, surfaces and other items in the communal area if at all possible.
The pool and gym are now open with allotted time slots available.
Food and Drink on site
We will be offering a delivery service for food and drink throughout the week as well as the bar being open in the pool barn. The bar service will be available in the bar lounge (limited in numbers and social distancing guidelines) and on the covered area of the terrace with social distancing being adhered to at all times in this area.
The usual events will still be available (Friday Night Bites/BBQ Night/Chilli Night) and will take place on the covered terrace area as much as the weather permits, however there is also the choice of the food being delivered to your property if you so wish.
The Bar will also open for delivery service so if you require something from the bar you can order this directly from the bar by phone.
Please let us have your electric meter reading the day before you leave Hope Barton.
Check out is by 9am (no later)
We will then email you the bill once you have departed and payment can either be made over the phone or by BACS payment direct in to our bank account.
If you did not book directly with us you (via a friend or an Owner) you will need to supply an email address to the reception during your stay.
Our team has undergone comprehensive hospitality-focused training on how to prevent the contagion of Covid-19.
All staff will be temperature checked upon arrival for work, and will be required to self-certify that they have not been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 symptoms.
Any staff member who shows symptoms will be sent home immediately and will be required to self-isolate for 14 days prior to returning to work. They will also be asked to contact the NHS to arrange a test in accordance with government guidelines.
Internal regulations have been introduced that require our staff to wear the appropriate PPE during their shifts and to wash their hands frequently.
Hand sanitising stations are located at all entry and exit points in reception for the team to use.
