Easter Activities
The treasure hunt was well supported. The sun was out, but it was extremely cold. The hot chocolate in the bar afterwards was very welcome. We had 5 entries for the colouring competition, from a variety of age ranges. It was impossible to choose a winner so that all
received a prize. The Egg decorating competition was won by Tilly Nicolson and Anna Tennant. Well done to everyone who decorated an egg for our egg tree. It really brightened reception.
Visit by Miranda Krestovnikoff - Coast and The One Show
Miranda and her family stayed at Hope Barton week commencing 22/3/13. They all joined us for the supper party and the chilli and skittles night. Miranda was just beaten in the final. Miranda kindly gave an extremely interesting talk about her work which was enjoyed by everyone.
The family had a great time and hopefully they will come back and visit us again.
Hawk and Owl Sanctuary Visit
Following a chat with the owner of our laundry service, a visit from the Hawk and Owl Sanctuary was arranged. A variety of static birds were displayed and guests were able to hold them. Although the afternoon was freezing cold a good time was had by all. It is hoped that we will be able to arrange a display in the summer where birds of prey will be in flight.
