facilities
Enjoy the natural facilities.
Guests at Hope Barton are encouraged to explore its 35 acres of natural pastures, streams, woodlands and bracken covered hills. Simply take a walk along our pretty pathways through our small working farm, and past our veg patch, free range chickens, orchard, pet corner and trout lake. You may spot the old water wheels in the disused quarry, glow worms lighting up the banks, a rare wild flower or a dragon fly or swallow dipping into the brook for a drink.
Feeling more energetic?
Perhaps you feel more energetic and fancy a dip in our indoor swimming pool, followed by a sauna . . . or a game of tennis on our all weather court. A small gym, with a selection of body building weights and cardio vascular equipment will keep you toned up if you are over 15 and our games room with table tennis and table football will provide entertainment for guests of all ages. Perhaps a game of boule later, bar skittles or bar billiards?
Time to relax
After all that exercise, why not unwind in our friendly bar, watch the big match on Sky Sports, or a program that you have recorded from our digital entertainment system or log on to our free wireless internet service which is available all day every day.
Strictly for the children!
On entering Hope Barton don’t be surprised to see the sign “Beware Free Range Children”. This is because Hope Barton is child friendly. Your children will love playing in the hay barn or on our wooden play area and if they get bored with that we’ll find them a job on the farm!
Where access is a problem
Hope Barton is doing its best to cater for everyone. We have a cottage designed for wheel chair users and have apparatus and ramps to allow access to most areas of the site . . . and if you need further help while on site, we’ll provide it.
Feeling Hungry?
Come and join us on Monday evenings for our farmhouse buffet or choose a cottage meal from our traditional farmhouse menu. With ingredients being sourced from our own farm or locally our meals are fresh, wholesome, and tasty.

Farm Shop and Reception
Want to order a newspaper or buy some milk or bread? Would you like to buy some sausages, free range eggs, bacon (thick cut – the proper way), a tasty gammon or joint from our farm? Perhaps you would like some local honey for your toast, some Hope Barton jams or chutneys, or a tub of Salcombe Dairy ice cream. Whatever your requirements our friendly team will be there to help.
