Hope Barton is open all year round with all the facilities being available.
Our Changeover day is a Friday, with arrival time being 4pm and departure the next week being by 10am. We would ask that these times are observed to ensure sufficient time to prepare cottages for guests.
Initial Enquiries should be made by completing the on-line form (see 'make a general enquiry' above) or by telephoning us on the number shown below. Our reception staff will contact you to confirm your requirements are available and a booking or provisional booking can then be made.
Provisional Bookings for a cottage and will be held for a three days period.
Reservations: Once a reservation has been taken, a booking form should be downloaded, completed and returned as soon as possible together with a cheque or credit card payment for 25% of the full agreed rental price. This form also includes the booking conditions which should be read carefully. Cancellation insurance of £50 per cottage per week is available at the initial stage of booking (not later). Full details of cancellation insurance can be found with the booking form. Your booking will be confirmed by us in writing. The balance will become due one month before the start date of the rental period. A reminder is not normally sent, so put the date in your diary!
Four weeks prior to arrival and when the final payment has been received for the rental balance, together with a £50 security deposit, returnable 10 - 14 days after departure, an access code will be e mailed to you to allow you to download pre arrival forms from a separate intranet web site. Alternatively you can ask for these to be posted to you.
The forms contain:
- Directions to Hope Barton Barns - definitely required for first time visitors to this delightful but secluded area of South Hams!!
- Requests for grocery and cottage meal requirements for your first day
- Requests for additional bedding, cots, high chairs, disability aids etc
- Booking Form for our Monday Buffet evening, limited to 38 places and fully booked most weeks of the year - superb home cooking !!
- Confirmation of final payment.
- Guidelines for dog owners.
Payments can be made by cheque or credit card.
